Workshops

Clark State Community College will offer a free Cybersecurity Workshop at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24 in Room 136 of the LRC building on the Leffel Lane campus in Springfield. For more information about the Cybersecurity Workshop, please contact Adjunct Professor Dale Rude.

Collaborations

Clark State continuously seeks to develop partnerships and collaborations to keep its cybersecurity and information assurance programs up-to-date.  In addition to numerous K-12 school systems, academic institutions and business and industry partnerships, Clark State has developed significant collaborative partnerships with these organizations.

Broadening Advanced Technological Education Connections (BATEC)

Organization Type: National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education National Center

Organization Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Collaboration:  Clark State Community College and the Springfield City School District are BATEC partners in an effort to increase student enrollment in area high schools in computing and technology courses.  BATEC provides an urban laboratory addressing the workforce needs in computing and information technology operates projects and programs in computers, networks, programming languages and databases and addresses the largest segment of STEM covering a projected workforce of 4.4 million jobs.

National Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA)

Organization Type: National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education National Resource Center

Organization Location: Palos Hills, Illinois

Contribution: CSSIA provides d training to faculty members to become certified to teach the Introduction to IT careers and other cybersecurity course s with the goals of increasing student awareness of and enrollment into IT and cybersecurity career fields and developing faculty to deliver the needed courses.

Indiana University (IU)

Organization Type: Academic Institution

Organization Location: Bloomington, Indiana

Collaboration: Indiana University provides workshops and virtual internships for cybersecurity students to introduce then to High Performance Computing systems (HPCs) and the security challenges related to HPCs.

National Convergence Technology Center

Organization Type: National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education National Center

Organization Location: Frisco, Texas

Collaboration:  Clark State is a partner member of the CTC and participates in faculty development and training to assure that students gain the most up to date information and skills in information assurance and technology.
