Placement Assessment

If you are a new Clark State student, you may be required to take the ACCUPLACER placement assessment. The ACCUPLACER placement assessment will evaluate your skill levels in reading and mathematics based on your major at Clark State. The initial ACCUPLACER placement assessment is free. A $15 fee will be charged for a retest, and a waiting period between attempts will apply. Most often, placement assessment scores will remain valid for three years.

If you have ACT, SAT scores within the past three years, or transcripts from high school (3 years) or another college, you may be excused from parts of the placement assessment. Please contact an Academic Advisor to learn more about your options. Click on the “Schedule an Advising Appointment” link below the Academic Advisor’s name who corresponds with your location/major.
