60 Hours

This is a series of five classes geared to individuals new to the manufacturing environment. Classes are hands-on, problem-centered and team-oriented as far as possible.

  1. Manufacturing Math (10 hrs)
    · Decimals: converting to fractions, percentages

    · Conversions: Fahrenheit to Centigrade
    · Basic geometry
  2. Precision Measuring (10 hrs)
    · Ruler
    · Micrometer
    · Digital Calipers
    · Temperature
    · Pressure
    · Area, volume, density, calculations
    · Intro to Basic CMM
  3. Blueprint Reading (20 hrs)
    · Title block information: scales, notes, schedules
    · Line types and dimensions
    · Views: orthographic, isometric, oblique
  4. Statistical Process Control (5 hrs)
    · ? and R charts completion, why used
    · Determining out of control conditions
  5. Mechanical Skills (15 hrs)
    · Motors
    · Belt drives
    · Chain drives
    · Gearing
    · Bearings
    · Pumps
    · Couplings
