Program Manager, Champion City Scholars
Half-time position, (.5 FTE), Exempt, Salary Range $16,123. - $24.184.

Develop and manage the Champion City Scholars program to enable young people to become the first in their families to earn a college degree.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree earned or in progress required, in Education, Social Work, Communications or related field. Three years experience in an educational environment (preferably post-secondary) preferred. Knowledge of college student services (admissions, financial aid) preferred. Experience working with volunteers preferred. Experience planning and implementing special events preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Exceptional planning and organizational skills, very strong problem-solving skills in a wide variety of issues. Ability to make sound spontaneous decisions; able to recognize issues that need input from Board of Directors. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent human relations skills working with diverse populations; ability to communicate with and supervise young people. Be proficient in Word and Excel, knowledge of Colleague helpful and have the ability to maintain confidential information. Occasional evening and weekend activities and local and sometimes regional travel required.

Instructional Design Coordinator
Full-time, (2080 total hours), Exempt Status, Salary Range $37,926 - $57,081.

The Instructional Development Coordinator is directly responsible to the Dean, Library and Education Resources. This person is responsible for coordinating the Teaching/Learning Center for faculty and providing training and documentation to online faculty, assisting in the creation of online course materials, assisting faculty with the development and maintenance of online course and working with faculty one-on-one and in small groups to help customize technology to meet learning objectives for distance learning course, and will coordinate development schedules with the Dean.
This person will be responsible for the organization, settings and trouble-shooting t the course/group level and serve as the technical contact for all issues dealing with course/group level tools, including but not limited to, grade book, testing tools, individual roster management, course content organization, Learning Repositories and Master courses. As course level administrator, this person will be designated as one of the primary contacts with Angel with responsibilities of reporting course group level problems.

Education and/or Experience: 3-5 years experience in distance learning, Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or related field required; Master’s degree preferred, experience teaching at the college level especially online. 3-5 years experience in the development of online materials using course management system software; Angel experience preferred. SQL query language a plus.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication (written and oral) skills. Working knowledge of web authoring application software and a variety of multimedia software (Flash, Fireworks, Camtasia, real media). Must have working knowledge of course management software systems.

Marketing Specialist
Full-time, (2080 total hours), Salary Range $15.50 - $23.25/hr.

Support collaborative effort to enhance Clark State’s image in the community, support enrollment growth and market the Performing Arts Center through advertising, publications and research.

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a concentration in Marketing, Journalism or Graphic Design/Digital Print Media. Minimum of three years related work experience in graphic design, marketing and/or public relations. Minimum of three years related work experience; experience in higher education preferable, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities: Proficient with Macintosh OSX 9 and the following software packages: Adobe InDesign and Quark Xpress; Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; Adobe Type Manager, Adobe Acrobar Distiller and Adobe Reader. Excellent writing skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently and flexibly with tight deadlines. An understanding of the printing process and press-ready electronic file transfer so as to effectively communicate with printers and facilitate print production. Ability to operate a digital camera. Ability to work as part of a cohesive, creative team and excellent customer service skills.

Admission Specialist
Full-time, (2080 total hours), Salary Range $15.50 - $23.25/hr.

The Admissions Specialist is responsible to recruit students to the college and assist them through the admissions process. This position will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of recruiting events for a wide variety of students. Special student populations may be defined by the Director as an area of focus for the position.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Major in student services, or Marketing preferred. Previous experience in student services preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Customer Service – serves both internal and external customers in an efficient, timely and pleasant manner; maintains professional appearance. Accountability – takes responsibility for one’s own actions including but not limited to completing tasks accurately and on time; arriving at designed work/meeting locations when expected; being prepared to work and participate; demonstrated ability to influence and encourage prospective students to make sound program decisions and to attend Clark State; ability to provide meaningful input for institutional marketing strategies. Verbal Communication Skills – accurately and concisely expresses oneself through written correspondence in a clean, intelligible manner. Reliability – completes work in a timely manner with attention to detail; ability to work irregular work hours. Continuous Improvement – looks for better methods to accomplish tasks including upgrading of technical skills and review of job procedures. Program Coordinator and Instructional Faculty Position for the Emergency Medical Services Programs
Full-time Emergency Medical Services Instructional Faculty position available beginning August 26, 2008. Salary Range $32,308 - $48,462/yr.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field, experience with program coordination and teaching in a collegiate setting preferred. Candidates must have current Ohio Paramedic and EMS Instructor certifications.

Skills and Abilities: Primary duties include program coordination, classroom and lab instruction in EMS certificate and degree programs, student academic advisement, and ongoing curriculum review, program review, and assessment of student learning. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and possess ability to work in teams and with members of the EMS community. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experiences. Position reports to the Dean of Health and Human Services.

Paramedic Instructors
Paramedic Instructors needed for Clark State Community College’s Paramedic Progam in Logan County starting August 26, 2008. Class and lab sessions will be offered at the Ohio Hi Point Career Center.

Custodian
Full-time, 2nd shift (2080 hours) Non-exempt, Grade Level 3, Salary Range $10.18/hr - $15.27/hr

This position performs routine and project cleaning and some maintenance in assigned building or other College buildings as needed.

Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Two years related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to work irregular schedules and hours including Saturday, holidays and evenings and night shifts. Ability to learn operations of mechanical equipment and alarm systems; ability to operate heavy floor cleaning machines; ability to operate snow moving equipment and ability to acquire computer skills. Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License.

Women’s Volleyball Coach
Part-time, (15 weeks) $4,175/year

The Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for all aspects of the volleyball program including but not limited to, recruiting, training and retaining athletically and academically qualified students. This position will also be responsible for assembling and developing assistant coaches and handling some administrative duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in physical education and/or strong coaching and background in volleyball.

Skills and Abilities: Coaching experience in volleyball (preferably at the college level). Ability to effectively interact with culturally diverse student-athletes. Knowledge of recruiting techniques and guidelines. Possess positive character traits. Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License.

Truck Driver Training Institute Opportunities
Clark State Truck Driver Training Institute is in need of Part Time Trainers with tanker experience for our Tractor Trailer Training Grounds at Tremont City. This position will consist of instructing entry level drivers to perform pre-trip inspections, range maneuvers, and road training in a tractor trailer or passenger type vehicle in preparation to test for and receive a class A or B CDL.

Trainers are part-time, 8-40 hrs weekly. Pay starts on a graduated scale at $7.50/hr for the first 86 hours of ODOPS certification training up to $17.50/hr.

Qualifications for this position are: Have a class A CDL and have been driving a trailer for the past 3 years; pass a DOT physical and drug screen; pass a BCI background check; possess a clean driving record; complete an 86 hour Ohio Department of Public Safety instructor training course (at Clark State); able to work in hort, code and rainy weather conditions and enjoy working with people. Work hours are: Monday through Sunday 8 am to 5 pm (summer hours are 7 am to 4 pm). Working hours are flexible.
