Campus Master
Plan
Our world is growing and changing more rapidly than ever before thus necessitating greater wisdom and skill for steering the College into the future. The discipline of campus master planning is used to better understand and manage our facilities and to ensure that they support our Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles. The Campus Master Plan is a tool used to guide the growth and change of facilities, including land and landscaping, buildings and utilities, as well as pedestrian and vehicular mobility.
Our campuses are unique with their own set of recurring issues and concerns including public image, growth and change, condition of existing facilities, land utilization, infrastructure, technology, security, access/traffic management, environmental stewardship, wayfinding, etc.
Clark State Community College completed its Campus Master Plan in 2003. View or download the Table of Contents (PDF) of the full report. The full report is available in the office of the Vice President for Business Affairs. View or download the Executive Summary (PDF).

Performing Arts Center Expansion Project
As the College began the Performing Arts Center Expansion project, it became apparent that it was necessary to include various community organizations and entities so that a downtown Springfield Arts, Culture and Heritage District concept (PDF) could be formulated. Lincoln Street Studio interviewed these organizations to get a feel for their vision of this concept. Funding for the project has come from the State of Ohio and from donors to the College’s Major Gifts Campaign. As with most capital projects, there is a need for additional funding in order to address College academic needs as well as the needs of Resident Arts Groups. Anyone interested in helping fund this project can do so by calling Kris Culp, Executive Director of the College’s Foundation at 937/328-6087.
Business Incubator
The College’s Brinkman Educational Center located in downtown Springfield is undergoing a renovation of the first floor with a two-fold purpose:
- Approximately 8,000 square feet is being converted into up to five spaces for incubator businesses. These spaces will be available to lease from the College at below market rates to assist these start-ups in their infancy.
- The College’s Corporate and Community Services operation, which includes training services (both non-credit and certification) to business and industry, will also relocate to the first floor of this building.
The project is scheduled to be completed and the Incubator available for lease beginning January 2008. Interested businesses can contact James Franks, Director of the College’s Corporate and Community Services, at 937/328-6079.
