Table Top Exercise(Broad Overview discussion w/Major Stakeholders)Table Top Exercises are intended to stimulate discussion of various issues regarding a hypothetical situation. They are best suited for senior staff, elected or appointed officials and/or other key personnel, meeting in an informal setting. Full-Scale Exercises(As Close to a Real Event as You Can Get)A Full-Scale Exercise is a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional activity involving actual deployment of resources in a coordinated response as if a real incident is occurring. A Full-Scale Exercise tests many components of one or more capabilities within emergency response and recovery and is typically used to assess plans and procedures under crisis conditions and assess coordinated response under crisis conditions. Functional Exercises(Exercise Simulation in an Operations Center)A Functional Exercise is a single or multi-agency activity designed to evaluate capabilities and multiple functions using a simulated response. A Functional Exercise is typically used to evaluate the management of the Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), command posts and headquarters and assess the adequacy of response plans and resources.
