This course provides both the 36-hour firefighter training along with a 6-hour Hazardous Material Awareness course. It meets the Division of Public Safety 36-hour firefighter requirements.

Minimum Requirements Fee: $595 Fire Safety Inspector PSS CertifiedStudents will gain the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to conduct fire safety inspections. Students will be introduced to various codes needed to develop a working knowledge of the inspection process. This course meets the requirements for the Fire Safety Inspector as required in H.B. 590.
Prerequisites
Fee: $450 Contract Firefighter TrainingClark State now offers contract training to local fire departments. These 20-hour, on-site training contracts can be customized to meet the needs of your department and are led by certified State of Ohio Fire Service instructors. This training program meets the recent law requiring volunteer and paid firefighters to obtain 18 hours of continuing education to remain certified. Trainings involve firefighting, rescue and hazmat training including practical hands-on evolutions. The instruction provides a lesson plan with each training sessions that includes a list of objectives covered and training session evaluations. Cost: $1,000/year Fire departments are charged an annual fee through Clark State and in return receive 20 hours of certified continuing education hours. If addtional hours are requested from the fire department, it would be charged at a rate of $45 per hour after the initial 20 hours. |
