New Student Organization GuidelinesIf the organizations that already exist do not support your personal interests, you may request to form a new student organization. A New Student Organization Registration form (PDF) must be submitted to the Student Life Office in Rhodes Hall, Room 217 in order to start and register a student organization at Clark State Community College. A new organization can be registered at any time throughout the school year. An existing organization should re-register by submitting a Student Organization Re-Registration form (PDF) annually by October 1 for the current academic year. Organizations will not be allowed to utilize approved college and/or organization funds and other college resources without a current registration on file with the Student Life Office. However, for organizational purposes, a group may start advertising and informing students about their club or team without a registration form being submitted The review process for an organization to be officially recognized by Clark State is as follows:
To maintain registration status, all student organizations must complete and submit a Student Organization Membership Roster form (PDF) to the Student Life Office no later than November 1, 2010, for Fall Quarter 2010; March 1, 2011, for Winter Quarter 2011; and June 1, 2011, for Spring Quarter 2011. Changes to a student organization's name, officers or advisors must be submitted on a Student Organization Information Change form (PDF).
Constitutions If the student organization is an affiliate or becoming a charter of a national/international association or organization, a constitution must be submitted to the Student Life Office with the New Student Organization Registration Form. The constitution will be kept in the organization's permanent file. The constitution will remain in effect until it is amended by the organization and will become null and void if an organization disbands. Please contact the Student Life Office if you require assistance in developing a constitution for your student organization.
