Registered Nursing / Urbana University BSN Completion Concurrent Admission ProgramThe Nursing Department of Clark State Community College (CSCC) and Urbana University (UU) College of Nursing and Allied Health offer a concurrent admission program for selected students. This program provides for a seamless and smooth transition from CSCC to UU. Advantages of the Concurrent Admission program include a seamless and smooth transition from CSCC to UU; access to UU’s services including the library, academic advising, and clubs and organizations; ability to complete additional CSCC courses towards UU’s RN-BSN curriculum at CSCC and some UU courses at CSCC’s tuition at UU. Ten students are accepted to start the program twice a year in fall and spring semester. To be considered for admission to the CSCC/UU Dual Admission Nursing Program, a student must:
- COMPASS of 70 or above within past three years - C or better in CPE 072/CPE 0400 - College English composition course with a C or better - SAT of 500 or above within past three years - COMPASS of 75 or above within past three years - C or better in CPE 062/CPE 0200 - College English composition course with a C or better - SAT of 560 or above within past three years - COMPASS developmental algebra score of 44 or above within past three years - C or better in CPE 102/CPE 0600 within past three years - College level math course with a C or better within past three years The following will be considered when selecting students for this program:
Students will be notified of their status regarding selection to the program on or before: May 7, 2012, for fall 2012 semester admission; September 30 for spring semester admissions; and March 30 for future fall semester admissions. No waiting list is maintained for this program. Students who are not accepted to start the program and wish to be considered for the next program start date would need to submit another application during the designated applications dates. Students who apply to this program but are not selected and who are on CSCC’s traditional RN program’s waiting list will maintain their rank on that list. Upon completion of their AAS nursing degree from CSCC, graduates will be eligible to take the licensing examination (NCLEX-RN exam). Graduates must successfully obtain licensure and earn a grade of C or better in all transferable coursework to continue in Urbana University’s BSN completion program. Students should consider several issues when choosing to apply for the CSCC/UU Concurrent Admission Nursing program. Students who do not successfully complete courses that are required for progression through CSCC’s nursing curriculum, will be dropped from the program. The student may apply for reinstatement into the concurrent admission program or Clark State’s traditional RN program once. Students must meet any new prerequisites and curriculum requirements to be eligible to reinstate. Reinstatement requests are evaluated on an individual basis. Reinstatement is on a space available basis and is not guaranteed. Students who do not continue with the RN-BSN at UU within one year of graduation from CSCC will need to apply for readmission to the UU-BSN completion program. Courses taken at UU for the BSN degree are not guaranteed to transfer to a different RN-BSN completion program. Students who are taking CSCC and UU courses concurrently must complete a Financial Aid Partnership Consortium Agreement. A consortium agreement is a contract between the student, CSCC, and UU. This agreement permits the Financial Aid Department to process financial aid based on the combined registered hours at both colleges for each term of the academic year. Students who are interested in pursuing admission to the CSCC/UU Concurrent Admission program should contact the CSCC Health and Human Services Division Office at 937-328-6057 or Mary Cornell, RN Program Coordinator, at 937-328-6096. |
