Rise Above Program

The Rise Above Program, developed by the WorkPlus One-Stop Center of Clark County, helps displaced workers learn a variety of soft skills needed to re-enter today's workforce. Rise Above provides employers with candidates prepared to contribute to an organization's success with skills in areas such as time management, goal-setting and conflict resolution. Job search assistance and support is provided for each participant. Coaching for interviews and job retention assistance provides additional support for each employee and employer for at least six months. Participants must have a high school diploma or GED, be drug-free and have no criminal record.

A two-week professional development workshop helps job seekers to discover their transferable skills and increase their professional marketability as they pursue new career opportunities.

A two-week classroom session includes instruction on how to identify career opportunities, write an effective resume, conduct a successful job search, interview with confidence and productive networking skills. Other sessions provide instruction on assessing salary and benefit packages, goal setting, time management, conflict resolution and professional skills assessments.

Clark State Community College is a collaborative partner for Rise Above at the WorkPlus One-Stop Center.
