Downloading Assignments | Storage Media

Instructions for downloading assignment files are included in every self-paced handbook. You may also download assignment files via the Internet by following the instructions included on the inside back cover of your textbook. Be aware that these are zipped files, and you should be familiar with where and how you store them and how to unzip them. You will know when to retrieve a file from your flash/jump/thumb drive by following the textbook unit instructions. You never need to submit your homework storage media to the lab instructor, only submit the printouts (clearly labeled) as requested in the self-paced handbook and the textbook.

Storage Media
We recommend the use of flash/jump/USB/thumb drives over any other storage media because of their ease of use and high reliability. One flash drive will hold enough data for all of your coursework. It is recommended that you electronically name your flash drive so that if you accidentally leave it in a computer it can easily be returned to you.

Students may use:

  • thumb (flash, jump, USB, memory stick) drives (can be purchased in sizes ranging from 512 MB to 64 GB; the smallest size is sufficient for ITS students), highly recommended
  • P: drive - your personal storage space on the Clark State network. Caution: You can only access this drive space while on campus.

Please take good care of your storage media! It represents a lot of hard work on your part, and you don't want to have to duplicate it. Never spill liquids on your storage media or expose them to magnetic sources. A magnet will delete all data from your media!

Campus computers have a port for USB devices on the front of the computer. Please ask for assistance if you do not know how to use the storage media mentioned above.
