Items may be borrowed and/or requested from the Clark State Library or OhioLINK using a student ID with a valid barcode. Community members may be assigned a courtesy card.
Books check out for 21 days. Videos check out for seven days. Items may be renewed three times if there are no requests by other users. Students may have 25 Clark State-owned items checked out at one time. Students may have 15 OhioLINK items checked out at one time. Most course specific items are limited to use in the Library.
Courtesy cards are available to community residents through application at the desk. Courtesy cards are subject to all policies and regulations of the Library. Community residents must present a photo ID with an address within Clark State's service area in order to receive a Courtesy Card. Courtesy cards are valid for six months, at which point they can be updated. Courtesy card holders may have five books checked out at one time.
Magazines, journals and newspapers are for use in the Library. Persons making photocopies are subject to the copyright law. Photocopiers are coin operated. A scanner is available for use for free.
Cardholders may use OhioLINK to request materials from OhioLINK member libraries. Clark State students may also use the libraries of OhioLINK institutions. A validated student or staff ID is necessary for borrowing from these libraries. Borrowers will be subject to the policies of the loaning library.
- Overdue OhioLINK items are $0.50 per day. There is a $50 fine for items more than 30 days overdue.
- A fine above $15 suspends library privileges.
- Lost materials owned by Clark State must be paid for at the replacement cost, or $75 if the item cannot be replaced, plus a $10 processing fee.
- Lost materials owned by OhioLINK must be paid for at a minimum of $75 plus a $50 processing fee.
All financial obligations to the Library must be met by the last day of the academic semester. Failure to meet these requirements can result in suspended library privileges, holds on diplomas, transcripts and registration. Overdue OhioLINK materials will result in immediate suspension of all library privileges.
