This is a non-credit course for STNA (SEM 009). If you are interested in taking STNA to receive college credit, please see the Nurse Aide Departmental Certificate.

This 84-hour course will introduce students to the principles and procedures of basic patient care for individuals in the long-term care setting. The students will be given both classroom and clinical experience. A score of 80% or higher is required on the final exam. The course is regulated by the Ohio Department of Health and attendance is required. Daytime class size is limited to 12 and evening class size is limited to 16. September 8 - 24 Monday - Friday (Week 1 and 2) 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  Monday - Wednesday (Week 3)  

The student is eligible to sit for the state exam (additional fee of $100) after successfully completing the course. The student will be given the date for the state exam on the last day of class.

Clinical Uniform Requirements: Royal blue scrubs, white leather shoes and a watch with a second hand.

Each student must have a current 2-Step TB test and a current (less than one year old) criminal background check prior to the first day of class. This is a requirement to enter the clinical setting. (Both the BCI & FBI are required if you have not lived in Ohio for at least the last five years.)
