Clark State Community College will host a Peer Review Team from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) on December 3 and 4 of this year for the 10 year Comprehensive Evaluation.

  •         Criterion Team Leads meet with Dr. Nickoli to review Evidence and Assurance Arguments (5/3/18)
  •         Criterion Team Leads incorporate Dr. Nickoli’s feedback into Evidence document

June 2018

  •         Dr. Nickoli provides feedback on revised Assurance Arguments (June 13-27)
  •         Federal Compliance contacts to complete Federal Compliance questions and appendices (June 30)
  •         Criterion Team Members incorporate Dr. Nickoli’s feedback and ensure alignment between Evidence and Assurance Arguments

July 2018

  •         Team leads meet with VPAA and Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) to review revised Assurance Arguments and Evidence (week of July 16)
  •         Marketing posts invitations for the public/community to submit third party comments (week of July 16)
  •         Individual Criterion Team Leader meetings to make edits to Evidence files and Assurance Arguments (week of July 16)

August 2018

  •         ALO begins Evidence and Assurance Argument uploads to Assurance System (week of July 30)
  •         The ALO edits and finalizes Federal Compliance Report (week of August 6)
  •         President provides HLC update during Convocation
  •         Dr. Linnea Stenson on campus to present during Convocation and meet with College constituents (August 13)
  •         Criterion Team Leaders meet to review any final feedback (week of August 20th)

September 2018

  •         HLC will send an email notification regarding the student survey requirement and specific dates for when the link should be shared with the students (the open date) and when the survey will close (~September 3)
  •         Share Assurance Argument and Evidence with campus constituencies (September 5)
  •         Receive written feedback on Comprehensive Report from campus constituencies (September 14)
  •         Criterion Teams incorporate campus feedback and finalize Evidence and Assurance Arguments (September 19) (This date has to be after the Sept 17 forums to allow for any additional campus feedback)
  •         Final group review of Comprehensive Evaluation by VPAA, ALO, and Team Leaders (September 22)

October 2018

  •         HLC Open Forum  Ohio Hi-Point (12-noon Wednesday October 3)
  •         ALO receives Public Notice (Community) files from HLC (early October)
  •         College to share the survey link via email with all students and a reminder email must be sent at least four days later. The survey will remain open for 10 days (~October 3)
  •         HLC Open Forum,  Greene Center G103 (9am Wednesday October 10)
  •         Finalize Evidence, Assurance Argument, and Federal Compliance Report to HLC Assurance System (October 10)
  •         HLC Open Forum hosted by Criterion Leaders at President’s Town Hall LRC 207-209 (4-5pm, October 17)

November 2018

  •         Public Comments are due in HLC's office (November 1)
  •         HLC Open Forum, Greene Center G103 (3pm Thursday November 1)
  •         Inspect key facilities to identify any required cleaning or repairs are made (November 1)
  •         Brief faculty and staff who will participate during the site visit (November 1)
  •         HLC provides the student survey results to the institution and the peer review team members (~November 3-4)
  •         Comprehensive Evaluation Report/Assurance System Lock Date (November 5)
  •         HLC sends Public Comments to Clark State and the visiting Peer Review Team (November 12)
  •         Prepare for evaluation team visit (confirm site visit arrangements, hotel rooms, meeting rooms, name tags, memento packets, refreshments, meal arrangements) (November 15)
  •         Ensure key facilities are ready for the Review Team visit (November 20)

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Clark State is now seeking comments from the public about the College from all constituencies including students, parents of students, prospective students, employers, alumni, donors, elected officials, community members, community organizations and businesses.

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of Clark State or its academic programs and be submitted no later than October 31, 2018. HLC will compile the comments and send them to the evaluation team and the institution three weeks prior to the visit.

The evaluation team and the institution will review the comments prior to the visit. During the visit, the team will discuss any comments received with the institution and follow up as necessary.
