In addition to the many cost saving opportunities offered by Clark State Community College, the Tuition Challenge Program continues to successfully save students on tuition costs.

Since 2015 Clark State students have saved more than $265,000 with the program that encourages positive classroom performance. The Tuition Challenge Program waives standard tuition rates for students who complete 12 or more credit hours in a semester, achieve a grade of C or better in each course and enroll in the successive semester for 12 or more credit hours.

“As an institution, we are dedicated to student access and success,” said Nina Wiley, dean of student engagement and support services at Clark State. “We are motivated to reduce financial barriers for our students and make education more affordable.”

Clark State’s Tuition Challenge Program offers a five percent tuition reduction to students enrolled in a minimum of 12 course credit hours and a ten percent tuition reduction to students enrolled in 15 or more course credit hours and meeting eligibility requirements.

Fall semester of this year students have saved a total of $28,037.66; 145 students are receiving a five percent tuition reduction and 58 students are receiving a ten percent tuition reduction.

The Tuition Challenge Program was first offered in the fall of 2015 following approval by the Clark State Board of Trustees and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
