Prince Charming will make a one-night stop at the Clark State Performing Arts Center in hopes of finding the owner of a glass slipper. Charming – last seen at the Ball with an unidentified female – plans to propose to the one woman upon whom the slipper will properly fit.
The Clark State Performing Arts Center will welcome Prince Charming - and his quest to find the owner of the coveted glass slipper - in the Broadway performance of Cinderella on Friday, February 23.
Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella won a Tony® Award in 2013 with its fresh new take on the beloved tale of a young woman who is transformed from a chambermaid into a princess. This hilarious and romantic Cinderella combines the story's classic elements – glass slippers, pumpkin and a beautiful ball along with some surprising twists.
More than just a pretty face with the right shoe size, this Cinderella is a contemporary figure living in a fairytale setting. She is a spirited young woman with savvy and soul who doesn't let her rags or her gowns trip her up in her quest for kindness, compassion and forgiveness. She longs to escape the drudgery of her work at home and instead work to make the world a better place. She not only fights for her own dreams, but forces the prince to open his eyes to the world around him and realize his dreams too.
Adele Adkins, executive director of the Clark State Performing Arts Center said the audience can expect a magical fairytale with fantastic sets, costumes and some theater magic.
“This is one of the most successful Broadway tours out right now,” she said. “It has all the magical elements one would expect from Cinderella. I’m so pleased we were able to find a date to bring this fantastic Broadway tour here this season.”
Tickets to Cinderella are available online at ticketmaster.com and range in price from $45 to $65.
