Clark State to Honor United States Military Veterans with Virtual Activities
Clark State Community College will commemorate Veterans Day with the display of more than 1,000 United States flags at the Springfield campus on Leffel Lane, the Greene Center in Beavercreek and at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine. The POW/MIA flag will be raised at the Springfield Leffel Lane campus Monday, November 9.

Springfield Museum of Art Displays “Project Jericho Fall 2020 Reflections” Exhibit
Clark State Community College’s youth outreach program - Project Jericho - has partnered with the Springfield Museum of Art to feature “Project Jericho Fall 2020 Reflections.” The exhibit features the work of 24 local youth artists and is currently on display in the Beach Gallery through November 19.

The Clark State Board of Trustees has voted to change the name of the institution to encompass the advancements in educational opportunities made by the college. As of January 1, 2021, Clark State Community College will be known as Clark State College.

Clark State VP Appointed President of Harford Community College
Dr. Theresa Felder, senior vice president for student success at Clark State Community College, has accepted the position as president of Harford Community College near Bel Air, Maryland. Felder will take over leadership of the Harford Community College beginning January 1, 2021.

Clark State Selected for Community College Acceleration Program that Assists Students with Living Expenses
Clark State was one of only five colleges in the state of Ohio selected for the CCAP pilot program. Through the program, Clark State is able to provide qualified students additional assistance with everyday needs - childcare, public transportation, automobile – and now a limited number of laptop computers are available on loan.

Winners of Clark State Essay Contest and Regional Poetry Contest Announced
This past spring, Clark State Creative Writer Club students, under the guidance of faculty advisers Chris Bays and Tabitha Parker, hosted The 2020 Voices of the Valley Poetry Contest – open to area high schools, colleges and universities – and also the first-ever annual on-campus essay contest. The poetry contest’s theme focused on “addiction.” The essay contest focused on well-researched argumentative essays.

Clark State Awarded $1.5 Million Title III Strengthening Institutions Program Grant
Clark State Community College will receive $1,587,096 from the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant. Clark State will use the funds to implement additional trauma-informed practices at the College.
