Clark State Community College will offer an online Professional Sales Ready Certification course beginning in February. This seven-week, 33-hour, non-credit online Sales Ready Certification course is interactive and uses revealing assessments and true-to-life role plays to prepare students for successful sales careers that align with their strengths.

Clark State Community College, the City of Springfield and the Springfield Human Relations Board will host the 30th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon on Friday, January 17 at 11:30 a.m. in the Grand Hall of the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center, 275 South Limestone Street in downtown Springfield.

Additional Funding Made Available through Ohio’s TechCred Program, Clark State Prepared for Additional Partners, Students
A second funding period for Ohio’s new TechCred program has been added and applications are now open through January 31. Clark State Community College currently offers certificates that align with the TechCred program in the areas of healthcare, information technology and manufacturing. Many of the certificate programs can also serve as stepping stones for those looking to later pursue an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Clark State Theatre Arts Production to Hold Auditions for Spring Production
The Clark State Community College Theatre Arts program will hold auditions in January for their spring production of Urinetown. Urinetown is based on the book by Greg Kotis. Urinetown performance dates are March 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., and March 29 at 2 p.m. in the Kuss Auditorium.

The Clark State Community College Scholars program recently expanded from Springfield City Schools into Champaign and Clark County schools. Clark State is seeking additional mentors with the program’s addition of Graham, Urbana, Tecumseh and Clark-Shawnee school districts.

Clark State Partners with State Auto to Offer Certificate, Guaranteed Hire Positions
Clark State Community College has partnered with State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company (State Auto) to offer an insurance management certificate with a guaranteed hire opportunity for graduates. The Insurance Claims short-term technical certificate is offered entirely online.

Clark State Now Offering Eight-Week Certification in Peer Recovery Support
Clark State Community College now offers an eight-week certification course in the field of peer recovery support. The four-credit Peer Recovery Fundamentals course will train individuals to assist with the management of mental health and/or addiction recovery and will be offered each semester throughout the year.

Hindu Community of Springfield to Present More than $11,000 to Clark State Foundation
The Hindu Community of Springfield will present the Clark State Foundation with a donation of more than $11,000 for its Foundation Scholars programs. This past September, the Hindu Community of Springfield hosted a BollyX dance/fitness event on the main campus of Clark State in Springfield. The event resulted in $11,505 raised for a new scholarship.

Clark State Enhances Campus Food Pantry with Shopping Experience for Students, Help from Second Harvest Food Bank
The Clark State Community College Office of Student Support has expanded their Food Pantry services in order to meet more than the immediate needs of students. With the added donation of 1,000 pounds of shelf-stable food from the Second Harvest Food Bank in Springfield, the Office of Student Support is now able to offer students a “shopping experience” at the Pantry.

Alpha Nu Lambda, Clark State Community College’s chapter of the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), will hold a fall induction ceremony at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 20 at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center in downtown Springfield. More than 50 Clark State students will be inducted into the organization.
