Clark State Community College Board of Trustees member Andy Bell has been reappointed to the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Finance and Audit Committee for 2019.
“Andy Bell has served Clark State’s students, faculty and staff with distinction as a Board member,” said Dr. Jo Alice Blondin, president of Clark State. “Now, on a national level, ACCT also benefits from Andy’s financial acumen, student-centeredness and dedication to the community college mission.”
Bell has also served as chairperson of the Finance Committee for Clark State, Wittenberg University and the Global Impact STEM Academy. He has been attending ACCT meetings and conferences and considers it one of the best professional trade associations.
“I’m pleased to be involved with a group of people from around the country,” said Bell. “It really just broadens your horizons and perspectives and gives you some new ideas that perhaps you can use in your own local organizations.”
Bell’s involvement with Clark State began with the Foundation Board in 2000. He served for the maximum nine years, including two terms as chairperson. During this time, he also served as chairperson of two capital campaigns. Because of his extraordinary service on the Foundation Board, he was appointed by the Governor to the Clark State Board of Trustees in 2006 and served multiple terms as both chairperson and vice chairperson. He is the only person to have served as chair of both the College Board and the Foundation Board at the same time. He has also attended many state trustee conferences through the Ohio Association of Community Colleges.
In 2017, Bell was honored with the Maureen C. Grady Award for Special Achievement and recognized as Champion of Clark State.
“I believe in the mission of Clark State and what we do for our students,” Bell said in a past statement. “It’s exciting times for community colleges because they are really coming into their own with partnerships with high schools and four-year colleges. The value of community colleges is at an all-time high.”
