Clark State Community College will offer an online Professional Sales Ready Certification course beginning in February. This seven-week, 33-hour, non-credit online Sales Ready Certification course is interactive and uses revealing assessments and true-to-life role plays to prepare students for successful sales careers that align with their strengths.
“We are excited to offer this innovative training opportunity to our region,” said Lesli Beavers, director of workforce and business solutions for Clark State. “Our new Professional Sales Ready Certification will provide a valuable advantage for in-demand positions. It provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of the sales cycle, setting and meeting goals, networking, utilizing Salesforce, CRM, online research and tools, self-branding and preparing and presenting sales-related proposals. Clark State will also provide students with additional coaching sessions to help them polish their resume and prepare for sales position interviews.”
Beavers also said according to the State of Ohio’s In Demand Jobs list, sales positions in Clark State’s region of Ohio are expected to continue to grow at an annual rate of 63 percent with more than 6,000 individuals currently employed in sales positions and another 900 positions open. The positions offer a median salary of $52,000.
“Another exciting aspect of this program is the direct employer partnership; we are actively engaging with local employers to connect our students with their roles,” said Beavers. “Clark State works with local employers to create role plays and curriculum modules to ensure our students are prepared for local positions. We can also partner with employers to fully customize the program to train their existing sales workforce.”
Students will participate in eleven sales modules and four branding and interviewing modules. The course provides a comprehensive sales education and introduction to sales career roles, including utilizing the highly predictive Chally Assessment sales profile and employer provided role-plays, extensive instruction in consultative techniques and communication building - plus interview, resume and personal branding tools.
Students who complete the Clark State Professional Sales Ready Certification badge have demonstrated an ability to effectively take a customer through the life cycle of a sale. Students mastered research, qualifying the prospects, applying negotiation tactics and calculating a compelling ROI. Students demonstrated knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) technology, sales goal planning, critical thinking and articulation and communication skills.
