How does WIOA work?  

WIOA is designed to help job seekers get the training they need to enter growing career fields. It works to align businesses and training programs regionally to ensure that people are getting training for jobs that are currently in-demand. As a WIOA participant, you will be directed toward in-demand occupations and provided with training for employment in industries such as healthcare, technology, finance, and manufacturing. 

Who is qualified for WIOA funds?  

The WIOA federal grant is designed to cover training expenses for people who have been laid off or whose household income is at or below a certain level. It’s designed for the following:  

  • Job seekers
  • Those laid off
  • Older youth
  • Incumbent workers
  • New to the workforce
  • Veterans
  • Someone with a disability

Whether you are searching for a job or looking to enhance your skills, WIOA can work for you!  The process of being approved and getting started in a program can take several weeks, so it’s important that you begin right away.
