Summer financial aid options include Federal Pell grant, Federal Direct student loans and student employment. Certain restrictions apply to each of these programs.

Federal Pell Grant

The U.S. Department of Education has announced that year-round Pell grant funds will be available for qualifying students. This change allows students to continue enrollment toward completion of their selected certification or degree program. To receive a Summer Pell grant, students must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Have completed the 2017/2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and listed Clark State on that application (federal school code 004852)
  • Have a financial aid award that include 2017/2018 Pell grant
  • Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in courses that are required for your certificate or degree**

**If you were enrolled less than full-time Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 and had a Pell grant award, unused funds may be available for Summer term for enrollment less than 6 credit hours

The Financial Aid Office will automatically award Pell grant for Summer semester to qualifying students.

Direct Student Loans

You may be eligible for loan funds for Summer semester if you have not exhausted your total loan eligibility for the current academic year. It is wise to plan ahead and reserve some loan funds if you plan to attend Summer semester. You must complete a 2017/18 Summer Loan Request Form  if you are requesting a loan for Summer classes.
