Clark State to Host Women’s Basketball Prospect Clinic

August 24, 2021

Clark State College will host a women’s basketball prospect clinic Saturday, September 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium on the main campus, 570 East Leffel Lane, Springfield.

Clark State women’s basketball coach Corey Steinke and the assistant coaching staff will offer prospective players the opportunity to work out, compete and develop skills needed to play at the next level as college athletes.

“This is the first time Clark State has offered a clinic like this,” said Steinke. “We want to get Clark State’s program in front of athletes and offer prospective players some exposure to college level athletics.”

Prospects must be in grades 9 through 12 or graduate from high school.

“We are still looking for a couple of players for the coming season and will also focus on future seasons and teams,” said Steinke.

The cost to attend the clinic is just $25 (cash or check upon arrival). To register, prospective players should email their name, high school attending or graduated from, position and height to Director coach Corey Steinke at steinkec@clarkstate.edu.

“Our players are students first and athletes second,” said Steinke. “We look for character, leadership and all-around good student-athletes. I have a student-athlete from Fairborn this year. Her coach recommended her, and I ended up giving her a scholarship.”
