Registration Open for Clark State’s College for Kids & Teens Summer Programming

April 25, 2022

Clark State College is currently accepting registrations for the 2022 College for Kids and Teens summer programming.

“We’re excited to welcome back new and past participants on campus this summer. We have many new and exciting activities planned in coordination with Clark State instructors, award-winning educators, and local businesses,” said Megan Cummins, youth program coordinator for Clark State. “From exploring modern agriculture with tractors and sustainable produce, expressive photo journaling, to dissecting a brain, there’s a camp for any student wanting to put their creative problem-solving skills to the test or meet new friends.”

All courses and activities are conducted in a non-graded environment encouraging the student’s personal growth and development. The activities provide opportunities for students to explore new areas of interest, stretch their imagination or cultivate a skill.

Classes begin June 6 and conclude the week of July 11. Class options include: Pre-Med 1.0 with a biomedical focus and Pre-Med 2.0 with a CPR and ADE certificate, Mobile app coding, Additive Manufacturing with a soapbox derby course, Farmhouse Fun in coordination with Sunrise Cooperative, Catapult Painting, Grow it! Try it! Like it!, Sprout House gardening, Photography workshop, and Creative Storytelling.

Clark State will award full scholarships to support low-income students to defray the cost of attending College for Kids and Teens. Scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis and scholarship recipients will be notified within a week of their application submission. Scholarship recipient income must be within 150% of the Federal Poverty level and will be available until all spots are filled. The United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties continues its support of the College for Kids and Teens program.

Students will be able to sign up for all-day camps with lunch and breakfast provided by Fresh Abilities. Depending on the course and planned activities, weeklong camps range from $100-$150 per student. All camps are available on a first come, first served basis, and class sizes are limited.
