Clark State Community College will hold a Virtual Open Door and Information Session for recent high school College Credit Plus and high school graduates at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 19.
“Building and maintaining relationships with students and their families is important to us,” said Nina Wiley, dean of student engagement and support services. “This is an opportunity for us to connect directly with families to highlight our affordability and programming and answer any questions they have.”
Dr. Jo Alice Blondin, president of Clark State, will provide updates on plans for the 2020 summer and fall semesters, safety and security, CARES act funding and the opportunities presented by selecting Clark State for continued higher education.
“We receive more information every day about this new environment that has developed in light of COVID-19,” said Blondin. “Clark State will be as prepared and flexible as possible, while still safely delivering a quality education to our students. I invite CCP students, high school graduates, their families and guests to join our Virtual Open Door Session and learn more about Clark State’s dedication to providing a high-quality, affordable education in a safe environment to students during these uncertain times.”
Blondin emphasizes that Clark State is the right choice for students who may have planned to attend a residential college or university and are now considering an affordable and dependable option closer to home. “Students can spend a year at Clark State and receive a friendly, affordable, high-quality educational experience while determining their future plans,” she said. “Community colleges are the primary workforce providers for many areas both locally and nationally, and also provide many transfer options to four-year universities.”
While classes will maintain a remote learning format for the summer semester, Clark State is currently preparing for fall semester classes to offer in-person and online format options.
“Our environment and some processes may look different,” said Wiley. “We will be taking important steps to ensure the safety of everyone on campus by following the guidelines developed by the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
In addition to Wiley, Dr. Theresa Felder, senior vice president for student success, and Kristin Skiles, director of enrollment management, will also be participating in the meeting with Blondin.
