Clark State to Host Adjunct Employment Fair at Beavercreek Location

January 29, 2020

Clark State Community College will host an Adjunct Faculty Employment Open House on Thursday, February 27 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Clark State location in Beavercreek, Ohio.

The College is seeking qualified, diverse, progressive instructors to teach classes in a variety of academic areas and formats. Teaching opportunities may be during the day, evening or weekend at the Clark State Beavercreek and Xenia locations. Teaching experience is preferred - but not required - in all areas.

“We are excited about hosting this event and connecting with members of our community who would like to make an impact by teaching Clark State students,” said Mike Cuffman, assistant dean of the School of Arts and Sciences for Clark State. “We appreciate the wealth of knowledge and experience adjunct faculty bring to our classrooms. They are an important part of our success and completion expertise.”

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking adjunct instructors for several different disciplines at Clark State including biology, chemistry, physics, philosophy, English, math, statistics and psychology. Minimum requirements include a master's degree in the subject discipline or a master’s degree and a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the subject area.

The School of Business and Applied Technologies is looking for adjunct instructors to teach in a variety of academic areas including economics, business law and marketing. Minimum requirements generally include a master’s degree; in a few select areas, less than a master’s degree may be considered if the applicant has sufficient work experience and/or industry credentials.

The School of Health, Human and Public Services has several openings for adjunct faculty in the areas of STNA, microbiology, nutrition, anatomy & physiology, medical assisting and medical laboratory technology. Requirements vary, but all disciplines require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

Tutors are also needed in the following areas: information technology, programming, management, marketing and accounting.

Applicants will meet with administrators and full-time program faculty at this open house to discuss qualifications and employment opportunities. “Applicants should bring copies of resumes, transcripts and applicable certifications/licensures, if feasible,” Cuffman said. “They will be helpful in determining if required qualifications are met.”

The Adjunct Faculty Employment Open House will be held on the second floor of Clark State’s Greene Center location, 3775 Pentagon Boulevard, Beavercreek, Ohio.
