Clark State Community College will welcome the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) to the newly renovated Advanced Manufacturing Lab on Thursday, March 9 for the MFG Mix.

“Clark State is a leader in manufacturing education and training, and we are proud to host our industry partners and showcase our facilities,” said Dr. Jo Alice Blondin, president of Clark State.

The Advanced Manufacturing Lab in Clark State’s Shull Hall features state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Clark State offers a series of Advanced Manufacturing certificates via a Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Program grant from the United States Department of Labor. The $2.5 million competitive grant focuses on five areas of advanced manufacturing: industrial maintenance, CNC operations, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), additive manufacturing and welding.

The TAACCCT grant also made it possible for Clark State to install new state-of-the-art equipment for the advanced manufacturing laboratory including a virtual welder, CNC machines and 3D printers.

“We’re moving manufacturing forward in this region and are happy to connect with the industry,” said Toni Overholser, director of workforce and business solutions for Clark State. “This is a place where manufacturers can come and have an open dialogue about what is needed in the region and see the facilities.”

Established in 1934, the DRMA has served manufacturers throughout the Dayton region as an active advocate, effectively advancing the interests of members and associated businesses. DRMA is a catalyst of innovation, a builder of partnerships and a champion for education to keep manufacturing in the Dayton region moving forward.

The DRMA represents manufacturers in the Greater Dayton region and members serve a variety of markets including aerospace, medical, agricultural, defense, construction, food and beverage, energy, communications and more.
