Clark State Will Host Adjunct Faculty Employment Fair

Clark State Community College will host an Adjunct Faculty Employment Fair from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 30. Clark State is seeking qualified, diverse, progressive instructors to teach classes in a variety of academic areas and formats beginning Spring Semester that begins January 9, 2017.

“This event allows potential adjunct instructors to have a quick and easy way to become familiar with Clark State and to jump start the hiring process,” said Richard Sykes, assistant dean of business and applied technologies at Clark State. “We are always on the lookout for excellent adjuncts, particularly with industry experience.”  

Qualified applicants will have the opportunity to meet with administrators and full-time program faculty to discuss qualifications and employment opportunities. Clark State Community College has three primary locations: The Clark County campus in Springfield, the Greene County campus at the Greene Center in Beavercreek and the Logan County campus at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine.

The Arts and Sciences academic division has urgent needs for instructors in the following areas:

  • Acting/Theatre
  • American Sign Language
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Communication
  • Economics
  • English Composition
  • Developmental Reading and Writing
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Developmental Math
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Spanish

Minimum requirements include master's degree in the subject discipline or a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the subject area. Teaching experience preferred.

Teaching opportunities in the Business and Applied Technologies academic division are available in the following areas:

  • Accounting (especially day classes)
  • Basic Computer and Microsoft
  • Business Communications
  • Computer-Aided Design
  • Computer Numerical Control
  • Economics
  • Management
  • Medical Office and Medical Coding
  • Networking and Cybersecurity
  • Office Administration
  • Real Estate Appraisal, Finance and Law
  • Welding

Minimum requirements are generally a master’s degree; in a few select areas, less than a master’s degree may be considered if the applicant has sufficient work experience and/or industry credentials. Teaching experience is preferred.

Interested applicants are asked to bring resumes, transcripts and applicable certifications/ licensures, if feasible. Teaching opportunities may be during the day, evening or weekend at one of Clark State’s campuses or online in the below areas.
