Clark State Will Offer Supervisor Training Certification

Clark State Community College will offer Professional Supervisor Training beginning Thursday, September 19. The training course will be held weekly on Thursdays through November 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The course will address the core functional areas of supervision: management effectiveness, work ethic, assigning work, planning, effective communication, leadership, coaching, motivation, managing conflict and more. Participants will learn tools and guidelines to enhance personal development and utilize individual skills.

This includes the following:

  • Open forum discussion on common issues and experiences
  • Supervision tools which allow your organization to cope with the demands of a competitive business market
  • Emphasis on the critical importance of focus, attitude and communication
  • Reality-based material that provides and focuses on everyday management activities

Instructor John Catenacci has over 30 years of experience in direct industry, starting as a front-line supervisor and following a leadership path to serving as vice president.  Throughout his career, he established a strong servant leadership style and passion for leading and developing people to achieve success across a broad spectrum of organizations and processes.

Catenacci is an analytical problem solver and is highly skilled in motivating and managing both technical and non-technical teams. The practical application of logical problem-solving and statistical techniques are hallmarks of his style.

Through Clark State, he brings his practical experience to develop and deliver training to meet the needs of local companies and their emerging leaders. Catenacci has received education and training from the University of Cincinnati, Milwaukee School of Engineering, SigMax Six Sigma and Franklin Covey.

Clark State’s Professional Supervisor Training certification course costs just $375 and will be held at the Brinkman Educational Center, 100 South Limestone Street, Springfield.
