DJ Chill Returns to Clark State Performing Arts Center with Silent Disco

June 14, 2021

The Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC) will continue the Close to Home Community performance series on Friday, June 23 at 6 p.m. with DJ Chill/Christopher Chilton.

“DJ Chill has an enormous following and fan base, so we are excited to have him as part of the series,” said Adele Adkins, executive director of the Clark State Performing Arts Center. “It is always a fun night when Chill is in the house.”

DJ Chill will present the audience with a Silent Disco: 3 channel silent disco headphones that allow guests to switch between the channels at any given time.

“The music will be varied in genre and decade for all styles and ages,” said Chilton. “If you don't like the headphones, we'll also be playing music out loud at a lower volume as not to take away from the silent disco experience. Once guests are done, they'll simply return the headphones to be sanitized for the next event.”

Chilton, a Springfield, Ohio, native and member of the Springfield Fire Rescue Division for 23 years said he was honored to be asked to participate in the PAC Close to Home Community Series this year.

“Springfield needs events like this series,” he said. “Our first time we were able to meet so many new people and lots of great friends showed up for a fun time. There were a wide variety of people that attended, which is the essence of 3 channel silent disco.”

The Close to Home Community Series events are free of charge will be held in the outdoor courtyard between the PAC and HBC, 300 South Fountain Avenue. Food trucks will be on site and a cash bar will be available.

“We're happy to see the return of the PAC and the Close to Home Community Series,” said Chilton. “2020 was tough on each of us. We all need safe outlets to get back to each other. What better ways than music?”

Patrons attending the Close to Home Community Series are encouraged to bring their own seating and follow current state health directives for physical distancing and face coverings. Outdoor events may be moved indoors if inclement weather poses a hazard.
