Leadfoot to Open Clark State Close to Home Community Series this Friday at the PAC

June 8, 2021

The Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC) will kick off its Close to Home Community Series this Friday with Leadfoot beginning at 6 p.m.

“Last summer’s ‘Close to Home’ series exceeded our expectations, so we brought it back for this summer,” said Adkins. “We expanded the name of the series to ‘Close to Home Community Series’ because this is a series for the community with all the performers from the community. This series expands all the wonderful summer offerings and will not operate during the Summer Arts Festival as we all enjoy going to the park for the festival too.”

Leadfoot is a country and classic rock band based in Springfield. Formed in 2012 with members Gene Bowshier on lead vocals, Steve Weller on drums, Eric Kinser on bass guitar, and Casey Motschman on the stunt guitar.

“I wanted to open this summer’s Close to Home Community Series with this group; members of this band performed last summer, and it was a smash hit,” said Adkins. “We had our largest turnout and this time it is their entire band!”

Adkins said if rain is in the weather forecast, the concert will be moved into the Kuss Auditorium.

The Close to Home Community Series events are free of charge will be held in the outdoor courtyard between the PAC and HBC, 300 South Fountain Avenue. Food trucks will be on site and a cash bar will be available.

Patrons attending the Close to Home Community Series are encouraged to bring their own seating and follow current state health directives for physical distancing and face coverings. Outdoor events may be moved indoors if inclement weather poses a hazard.
