Project Jericho will be creating up to twelve hanging flower baskets that will be installed on light poles this summer around City Plaza in downtown Springfield. The baskets are unique because they won’t need watering, and they won’t cost the city any money. These unique flower baskets will be made out of recycled materials during Project Jericho’s Summer Arts Camp June 20-24.

At camp, approximately 30 local teens will work with professional artist Eric Marlow on a project that uses recycled materials like water bottles, hangers, corks and produce bags (donated by Clark County Department of Job and Family Services, Dolbeer Cleaners, Season’s Bistro, Kroger and Olive Garden) and turns them into beautiful plastic flower baskets.

The community can get a sneak peek of the baskets and other art made during Project Jericho’s Summer Arts Camp by attending an art show at City Plaza on Friday, June 24 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Project Jericho is a collaborative program of the Clark State Performing Arts Center and Clark County Department of Job and Family Services with additional funding provided by the Ohio Arts Council, the Ohio Department of Youth Services and the Turner Foundation.
