Make Your Previous Credits Count

If you are planning to transfer credit to complete an associate degree at Clark State or would like to enroll in an occasional class to transfer back to your home institution, send official transcripts from each institution to Clark State to the Admissions Office at P.O. Box 570, Springfield, OH 45501.

If you are a former Clark State student who left before earning your degree but have earned credits at another two- or four-year institution, you may be eligible for a Reverse Transfer.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Earned a minimum of 15 semester hours at Clark State.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at Clark State.

Get started with our transfer steps.

Once your transcript is received by Clark State:

  1. It is evaluated for transfer credit. Clark State evaluates transfer credit in a fair, consistent and non-discriminatory manner. Credits are reviewed for applicability toward your selected program. Clark State accepts credit from universities accredited by recognized regional accrediting associations.

  2. You are notified when your evaluation is complete.

If you disagree with the evaluation and application of transfer credit, you may appeal the decision.

Not all transferred courses may apply directly to a selected degree. Some programs may require additional review. Transfer students may be asked to provide course descriptions or syllabi. Evaluation practices comply with federal and state regulations, including Title IX protections ensuring equitable treatment regardless of sex. If you believe your transfer evaluation process involved discrimination, contact our Title IX coordinator.
