As winter approaches, Clark State College reminds students, faculty, staff and community members of the procedures in place should classes or operations be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather.
"The safety of students and employees is the college’s top priority," said Doug Schantz, executive vice president for finance, facilities and operations. "When weather conditions could potentially make travel hazardous, Clark State closely monitors forecasts and road conditions before to make informed decisions about delays or closures."
If Clark State announces a weather-related delay or closure, information will be shared via Eagle Alerts that send text, phone and email notifications through an emergency notification system. To sign up for these alerts, visit Eagle Alerts.
Announcements will also appear on the homepage at ClarkState.edu as well on social media channels: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). Area television and radio stations will also be notified of closures or delays.
If the college closes, all on-campus classes and events are canceled. Students enrolled in online or hybrid courses should email their instructors, as some classes may continue virtually.
If the college opens late, classes scheduled before the reopening time will be canceled and those beginning after the reopening time will meet as usual.
"Clark State encourages all students and employees to make personal safety their first priority. Conditions can vary by location and those who feel unsafe traveling should contact their instructors or supervisors."
