The Clark State Performing Arts Center will welcome JJ Grey & Mofro to the Kuss Auditorium, 300 S. Fountain Ave., on Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets will be on sale beginning Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.

Hailed by The New York Times for his “impassioned singing, riff-based Southern rock, cold-blooded swamp funk and sly Memphis soul,” JJ Grey has built a reputation as one of the most authentic voices in American roots music. His deeply-rooted blend of funk and southern rock has been praised by NPR as “richly evocative” and Oxford American as “the funkiest swamp rock the world has ever heard.”

Grey’s 2024 album, Olustee, marks his 10th studio release and his first self-produced project. The album, described as deeply personal yet universally resonant, explores themes of redemption, resilience, friendship and living in the moment. With songs that overflow with vivid imagery from his North Florida home, Grey’s music connects powerfully with audiences everywhere.

Since his debut in 2001 with Blackwater, Grey has become a festival mainstay, performing at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Byron Bay Blues Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival and Fuji Rock in Japan. Over his career, he has shared the stage with musical legends including B.B. King, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Mavis Staples and Jeff Beck. His songs have also been featured in major films and TV shows such as “House of Cards,” “Friday Night Lights” and “The Gray Man.”

With his trademark gritty baritone, Grey and his band, Mofro, fuse rock, blues, soul and funk into a high-energy experience.

Tickets for JJ Grey & Mofro are $35-$65 with VIP packages available starting at $185. Tickets can be purchased at pac.clarkstate.edu or by calling the Clark State Performing Arts Center Ticket Office at 937-328-3874.
