The Clark State theatre arts program will present a stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “To Kill a Mockingbird,” bringing to life the timeless story of family, courage and justice in Depression-era Alabama. Performances will take place Oct. 31–Nov. 2 and Nov. 7–9 in the Turner Studio Theatre at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 S Fountain Ave. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students with a college ID. Clark State students may attend one show for free with their student ID.

The production features an ensemble cast of 21 actors and crew of nine individuals who bring the world of Maycomb, Ala. to life. Among the key characters are Atticus Finch, a lawyer and father, played by Justin Simons; Scout Finch, Atticus’ curious and outspoken daughter, played by Katie Thorpe; and Jem Finch, Scout’s older brother who is coming of age, played by Adrian Moran.

“Our student and community actors have poured their hearts into this production,” said Theresa Lauricella, producer and Clark State theatre professor. “’To Kill a Mockingbird’ challenges them not only as actors, but as storytellers who must navigate complex emotions and social issues. It’s been inspiring to see their dedication and how they’ve come together to tell such a classic story.”
