Honors Program

Pursue Excellence With the Clark State Honors Program!

The Clark State Honors Program is designed for students who want to go further — who are curious, ambitious and ready to push themselves beyond the standard classroom experience. Honors students engage in enriched coursework, one-on-one collaboration with faculty and projects that challenge them to think critically, reflect deeply and take ownership of their learning.

By joining the Honors Program, students become part of a supportive community that values leadership, innovation and academic excellence — while also gaining opportunities for recognition, scholarships and Honors Program distinction at graduation.

Applications are accepted at the start of fall and spring semesters.

What Makes an Honors Course Different?

Honors courses are regular classes taken to the next level. The Honors Program Coordinator and instructor will create an Honors Project – a deeper, more challenging assignment. Once agreed upon by all parties, including students, an Honors student then completes the project.

Honors Projects and Presentations

Your project unfolds in two parts:

  1. Honors Project: A faculty-guided assignment that extends beyond regular coursework.
  2. Honors Presentation: A concise slide presentation that showcases your project and reflects on your learning is judged by a panel.

Scholarships

At the end of each semester, Honors students submit their projects. The top presentations, as judged by a faculty panel, earn Honors Scholarships.
