Overview
This course is 13-weeks in length and meets every Wednesday evening, 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Topics include basic phlebotomy principles and procedures including safety and infection control, medical terminology, basic anatomy, physiology and the circulatory system, venipuncture-procedures, complications, equipment, blood collection and quality assessment.
Lab work will include blood draws under the direct supervision of the instructor.
After completing the classroom and lab practice components, participants will receive a certificate of completion and will be qualified to obtain entry-level employment as a phlebotomist.
