Pregnancy Accommodations

Clark State is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive and non-discriminatory learning and working environment for all members of our college community. Pregnancy and parenting responsibilities can create unique challenges, and we are committed to helping students succeed. Students who are pregnant, recovering from childbirth or experiencing related medical conditions may request academic adjustments or accommodations to ensure equal access to coursework, programs and services.

Examples of accommodations may include:

  • Excused absences for medical appointments
  • Adjustments to assignment deadlines
  • Temporary accessibility modifications
  • Other reasonable accommodations based on individual needs

If you are pregnant or parenting and need assistance, we encourage you to contact the Office of Accessibility Services so we can connect you with available accommodations, resources and support.

To request pregnancy-related accommodations:

  1. Complete the Accommodation Request Form.
  2. Attend an accommodation planning meeting.
  3. Submit the Pregnancy-Related Documentation Form.

All requests are reviewed confidentially and handled with care. Title IX federal law prohibits discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, recovery from pregnancy-related conditions or parenting status.
