Your Safety Matters at Clark State!
At Clark State, your safety and well-being come first. Through strong partnerships with local law enforcement, trained campus personnel, and clear safety procedures, we work every day to provide a secure and welcoming environment for students, employees and visitors.
We are proud of our close working relationships with the Springfield Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Bellefontaine Police Department, Beavercreek Police Department and Xenia Police Division, along with other federal, state and local agencies.
In addition, we are proud that The Ohio School Safety Center awarded Johnny Lemen, Clark State’s director of risk and emergency management, the Ohio School Safety Center Stand Out Staff Award for his significant contributions to school safety and security through commitment, efforts and leadership.
Security by Location
In emergency situations, call 9-1-1.
Springfield Campus
Safety services for our main Springfield campus are staffed by officers from the Springfield Police Department. Police officers are also available to escort individuals to their vehicles. Calls are routed to Clark County dispatch if Springfield police are not available.

Beavercreek Campus
Security services are provided by Moonlight Security and personnel are available to escort individuals to their vehicles.

Bellefontaine Campus
The Bellefontaine location, located on the campus of Ohio-Hi Point Career Center, follows procedures established by OHP and is served by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office who respond to campus safety and security needs.

The Xenia location is served by the Xenia Police Division. While not staffed directly on-site, area police officers respond promptly to safety and security needs.

Campus Safety Reports
Safety and Security
Clark State College complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Each year, the College publishes an Annual Campus Security Report containing:
- Campus crime statistics for the previous three calendar years
- Fire safety statistics (if applicable)
- Safety policies and procedures
- Emergency response and evacuation procedures
- Timely warning and emergency notification policies
- Sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking policies
The reports includes statistics for incidents and alleged incidents occurring on campus, in non-campus buildings or property, on property owned or controlled by the college, or public property within the campus or immediately adjacent to and accessible from campus.
Anti-Hazing
Clark State also complies with Ohio’s Anti-Hazing Law (Collin’s Law).
Hazing in any form is prohibited and may result in student disciplinary action, organizational sanctions and criminal penalties.
