Overview
What could you achieve if you earned an occupational therapy assistant degree through a partnership designed to bring high-demand training closer to home? Clark State gives you a direct path into the occupational therapy assistant program by completing your general education courses on any Clark State campus while taking your technical courses from Rhodes State faculty through distance learning. You’ll travel to Rhodes State in Lima once a week building the therapeutic skills needed to help people of all ages strengthen the physical, cognitive and emotional abilities essential for daily life.
Clark State’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program is offered through the Northwest Ohio Allied Health Education Consortium, a partnership with Rhodes State College that provides Clark State students access to an associate degree in occupational therapy assisting. Students complete general education coursework at Clark State — online or on campus — while technical courses are delivered by Rhodes State faculty through distance learning. Students travel to the Rhodes State campus in Lima approximately once per week for hands-on labs, and clinical experiences are completed at regional healthcare facilities. Clinical seats within the consortium are reserved for qualified Clark State students living in the college’s service area.
The technical phase begins each summer semester in May and seats are limited. Applicants must be admitted to both Clark State and Rhodes State and indicate they are applying through the Northwest Ohio Allied Health Education Consortium as a Clark State student. Early submission of qualification materials is strongly encouraged to secure a seat.
