Eric Charlton, Ph.D., has joined Clark State College as dean of the new School of Allied Health and Public Services. The school was created following the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s approval of Clark State’s new bachelor’s degree in nursing. What was previously the School of Health, Human and Public Services is now two separate academic divisions: the School of Nursing and the School of Allied Health and Public Services.

In May, Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D., president of Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio, announced her plans to retire in June 2026 after 33 distinguished years of service to higher education. Blondin became the fifth President of Clark State College in July 2013 and will have served in this role for 13 years. Clark State has now partnered with the Association of Governing Boards in the search process for a new president.
