Diagnostic Medical Sonography Application

Students should apply only after they have met requirements in math, writing, reading, laboratory science and grade point average. Detailed information about these requirements are listed below.

Students must apply online to Clark State College before they can apply for entry into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Official transcripts from other institutions, if applicable, must be on file prior to applying.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Clark State College is a competitive, limited space program. Admission to the College does not guarantee entry into the DMS program.

Students will be notified of admission status in June after the spring semester has ended.

Please review our Technical Standards form  prior to applying to the DMS program. Applicants are required to sign our Certification of Ability to Meet Technical Standards form, indicating they have reviewed these essential functions, skills, and abilities and submit that form as part of the program application process. The required form must be completed and returned to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at DMSprogram@clarkstate.edu

In order to be eligible to apply to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, students must complete or be currently enrolled (during the spring semester of the year they're applying) in the courses listed below. 

Courses:
  • PHY 1100: A grade of C or higher in a college physics course (PHY 1100 Fundamentals of Physics or its equivalent within five years of beginning DMS coursework).
  • ENG 1111: A grade of C or higher in a college composition course (ENG 1111 English I or its equivalent).
  • BIO 2121: A grade of C or higher in a college Anatomy and Physiology course (BIO 2121 Anatomy and Physiology I or its equivalent within five years of beginning DMS coursework).
  • STT 2640: •A grade of C or higher in a college level mathematics course (STT 2640 Elementary Statistics I or its equivalent within five years of beginning DMS coursework).
