Clark State Encouraging Early Spring Semester Registration, Will Give Away Ten $1,000 Scholarships

November 24, 2021

As fall semester draws to a close, Clark State College is offering students additional incentive to complete their registration for 2022 spring semester classes. Students who register for courses by December 23, 2021 will be automatically entered to win one of ten $1,000 scholarships.

“It is our hope to encourage students to register early before they leave for the winter break,” said Dr. Dawayne Kirkman, vice president of student affairs at Clark State. “Early registration allows students to register for classes they want at the times they want, as well as keeping on track for graduation.”

Kirkman said any student that is registered between October 18 and December 23 will be included in the drawings. Eligible students include current, new and returning students.

Starting out the new year right – being on track for a strong start to the new year!

The drawings will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, December 23. Students receiving the scholarships will be notified via email or phone call the following day.

Kirkman said by completing registration prior to the start of winter break, students will have peace of mind knowing they are fully prepared for spring semester which begins on January 18, 2022.

Clark State will also be hosting spring registration events from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1 at the Clark State Xenia location, 334 Progress Drive, and Wednesday, December 15 on the main campus at 570 East Leffel Lane, Springfield. Students who register at one of these events will also be entered into a drawing for a $500 scholarship.

“The registration events provide prospective and current Clark State students a one-stop opportunity to prepare for the spring semester,” said Kirkman. “Students can receive help for every step of the enrollment process, including: applying, testing, registering for classes, and exploring financial aid and payment plans.”
