Clark State Honors Student-Athletes at Annual Athletic Banquet (1)
May 22, 2023Clark State College honored numerous student athletes at an in-person athletic banquet held May 10. The College honored Clark State athletes who earned honors on the All-OCCAC Academic Team, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Conference awards.
“This year’s Athletic Banquet was so heartfelt and full of full circle moments,” said Naz Butler, director of athletics and student life at Clark State. “Our Student-Athletes works so hard on the court/field, in the classroom and balancing other roles they fulfil. This is one of the best days in Athletics for the hard work and commitment of our Student-Athletes to be seen and recognized by Administration, Coaches, fellow Student-Athletes, and family and friends.”
Butler said Clark State student athletes were awarded with numerous awards from MVPs to sportsmanship, academic honors, Conference awards, and more.
“To hear from our student athletes about their experiences, what they learned about themselves and how excited they are to go into their next seasons from newbies to leaders was beautiful,” she said. “We also celebrated our soaring athletes, many of which will be continuing their athletic careers. It was bittersweet, celebrating the finish line moment but seeing how prepared they were for life after Clark State College and Athletics.”
In 2014, Clark State joined NJCAA and competes at the Division II level in women’s softball, volleyball and basketball; and men’s baseball and basketball. Clark State is also a member of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC).
