Clark State Community College was presented with the award for outstanding business or organization that has had a significant impact on local businesses and the community at the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Golden Leaf Gala on October 18, 2012. The award was presented to Clark State and President Karen Rafinski.
"Name any significant project in Clark County and there's a good chance Clark State was or is involved," said Mike McDorman, president and CEO, Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. "Greater Springfield Moving Forward, the attraction of Code Blue, Workforce Development Partnerships and the Global Impact STEM Academy are just a few of the projects they have had their hands in recently."
Dr. Rafinski is an active member of the chamber board, oversees their ambassador program and Clark State staff volunteer with the H.I.T.S business outreach program - calling on local businesses to see if the chamber can assist them with their hiring, investment, training or space needs.
