Clark State Names Tracy Yates as Director of Workforce and Business Solutions

Clark State College interim director of Workforce & Business Solutions, Tracy Yates, has accepted the official position of director of Workforce and Business Solutions.

“Tracy is the right professional for this position. This position requires people skills, intellect, and the ability to produce outcomes,” said Crystal Jones, vice president of marketing, diversity and community impact at Clark State. “Tracy has these skills and others that she brings to this position. Her previous experience prepared her for this role.”

The director of Workforce and Business Solutions is responsible for creating partnerships with employers and community organizations with priority on workforce development and specialized contract training. Yates is responsible for developing and delivering training programs jointly between the College and the customer, primarily the business or agency that is contracting the training, assuring that the program will match the employment needs of the client.

At Clark State, Yates has served on the Strategic Leadership Team, as a Professional Supervisor Training for Clark State Completion, a Safety Committee Co-Chair, Staff Senate President, Diversity Committee member, a Champion City Scholar Mentor, and a Young Youth Professional member.

“I am excited to grow our current college relationships and build new ones with our community partners, businesses, and organizations,” she said.

Prior to joining Clark State’s Workforce and Business Solutions team, Tracy served as director of conference services for the college where she managed the conference center for internal and external renters and actively partnered with community leaders and organizations.

Yates is a graduate of Clark State College and has served Clark County in numerous roles including serving on the Boards for Leadership Clark County, the Salvation Army, Business Advisory Council, and the Small Business Development Center.

Yates has successfully built relationships with local educational institutions to provide a comprehensive approach to workforce development. These include K-12, Vocational, and other local institutions of higher learning.

Yates graduated from Leadership Clark County in 2018, and Clark State’s SOAR program in 2019. She completed Professional Supervisor Training in 2017.
