Clark State Workforce and Business Solutions Hosted Free Webinar, Recognize National Apprenticeship Week

In recognition of the 7th annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) Clark State Workforce and Business Solutions hosted a free webinar on Wednesday, November 17.

Registered apprenticeship models continue to gain momentum across all industry sectors as a proven workforce pipeline and development tool.

Attendees of the webinar heard directly from an industry partner and their experience in creating and deploying an apprenticeship program.

This panel discussion is applicable to all industries and discussions centered on how to create an apprenticeship pathway and what is needed. Panelists shared what role Clark State College plays in developing the curriculum and heard from the Greater Ohio Workforce Board to learn how vital they are to this puzzle. The session included business partners discussing their experience in creating and deploying an apprenticeship program.

  • Dan Yohey, CSSBB, Quality Engineer, Rittal North America, LLC
  • Erin Deskins, Human Resources Director, IPL Dayton, INC.

NAW is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities. NAW is an opportunity to highlight how Registered Apprenticeship, a proven and industry-driven training model, provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges such as responding to critical supply chain demands and supporting a clean energy workforce, modernizing our cybersecurity response, addressing public health issues, and rebuilding our country’s infrastructure.

National Apprenticeship Week is recognized from November 15 through the 21.
