
Clark State College opened its doors today (Aug. 18) to welcome more than 4,200 students for the first day of the 2025–26 academic year, a 10 percent increase in enrollment for students taking classes for academic credit.
Students arrived across all Clark State locations—in Springfield, Beavercreek, Bellefontaine and Xenia, and through online learning—ready to pursue degrees, certificates and workforce training that will prepare them for in-demand careers.
“Each new academic year brings renewed enthusiasm,” said Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D., president of Clark State College. “We are committed to providing a high-quality and welcoming learning environment that provides our students with pathways to employment, transfer and life-long learning—whether they’re starting college for the first time, returning to finish their degree or advancing their careers.”
Offering more than 120 degree and certificate programs, including bachelor’s degrees in manufacturing, web development, nursing, and addiction and integrated treatment studies, the college has prepared a robust semester student activities, events and support services. Initiatives like Caring Campus, free tutoring, career advising, financial aid options and counseling are designed to ensure student success both inside and outside the classroom. Students are also encouraged to get involved in student organizations, athletics, leadership opportunities and campus events to foster connection and community. Flexible scheduling options—day time, evening, weekend and online—meet the needs of working adults and non-traditional learners.
After experiencing a 13 percent increase in overall headcount in fall 2024, with an 11 percent increase in credit hours, Clark State continues to see growth in enrollment for high-demand programs such as healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, agriculture and criminal justice. In addition to the 10 percent enrollment increase in fall 2025 over fall 2024, high school College Credit Plus student enrollment surged by 12 percent, allowing students to earn both their high school diploma and free college credits simultaneously. New student enrollment is also up by six percent, enrollment at the Clark State Beavercreek location has increased 23 percent and continuing students are back in greater numbers, reflecting a 15 percent rise in their enrollment.
Fall semester classes began today, but later start options are still available for those interested in enrolling. Once enrollment is completed for all fall terms, Clark State is expecting final overall enrollment to total more than 5,000 students.
