Auditions to Be Held for The Mousetrap

January 12, 2015

The Theatre Program at Clark State Community College will hold auditions for “The Mousetrap” on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, 7 p.m., at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, Turner Studio Theatre, 300 South Fountain Avenue.

“The Mousetrap,” a period piece by Agatha Christie, centers on a group of strangers stranded in a boarding house during a snowstorm in 1950. One of them is a murderer. The suspects include a newly married couple who run the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone and a policeman traveling on skis. Trapped in the house, the guests must determine which of them is the murderer.

Actors must prepare a one-minute modern comedic monologue and expect to cold-read for all characters. All experience levels are welcome. Resumes and headshots are preferred, but audition forms will be provided. Any time conflicts between auditions and the end of April need to be noted. Callbacks will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 28.

Live performances of “The Mousetrap” will be held April 10-19, 2015, at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, Turner Studio Theatre.
