Clark State and Wright State Renew Gateway Agreement to Secure 4-year Degree Option

June 28, 2016

Clark State Community College and Wright State University have signed into renewal the Gateway Program partnership. The partnership was first signed into agreement in 2010.

“This partnership is a great example of how two institutions can work together to add value and enhance the experience of our students,” said Dr. Amit Singh, Clark State provost and vice president of academic affairs. “The agreement itself is important, but what’s more remarkable is how well we work together to serve our students, under this umbrella agreement.”

The agreement will continue to ensure a pathway for Clark State students to obtain a bachelor’s degree at Wright State in a host of established programs. The Gateway program is reviewed every two years to ensure it is current and efficient.

“The program has evolved as we found ways over the years to better serve the students of both Clark State and Wright State,” said Dr. Thomas Sudkamp, Wright State provost.

The Gateway Program formalizes links between the two colleges and aims to improve academic program articulation, promote degree completion and utilize resources at both institutions efficiently.

“This is a great, tremendous resource for our students,” said Singh. “This reaffirms our commitment to this program and to our students.”

To enter the program, Clark State students must declare the intention to enroll at Wright State following completion of a specified program of study at Clark State. The students must maintain good academic standing at Clark State to stay in the program.

In addition to joint advising, students in the program will be able to use identified Wright State facilities, have the undergraduate Wright State application fee waived, receive a Next Step scholarship to WSU, gain admission to non-ticketed athletic and cultural events, be permitted to participate or attend select student activities, apply to live on campus and for residential students have access to student parking with the purchase of a permit.
